Ed answers:
Q. What sort of management style?
A. Are they asking what sort of management style you have? Or what sort you prefer to work under? I doubt they’ll ask what sort you have, as you’re not going for a management job. Tell them you prefer a manager who gives you feedback on what you’re doing right and wrong, also someone who will give you responsibility and a chance to grow in the job.
Q. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
STRENGTHS – Communication skills, People skills, Computer skills
WEAKNESSES – I am a perfectionist when it comes to my work, I am never satisfied with doing the minimum
A. You strengths are fine. They may ask you to give details. What kind of people skills, for example.
The weakness you gave is a cliche one. It’s been used by everyone. You’ll come off as phony. You can be honest and say something like your weakness is that you don’t have much work experience yet, so you don’t know what kinds of things you don’t know.
Q. What’s an outstanding customer service that you did in your last job?
Well, with my last job I wasn’t actually exposed to customer service as I was situated in the bakery, so I haven’t actually had any outstanding customer service experiences as of yet but hope that if I do get this job I will be able to.
A. What you wrote is honest and it’s a good start. But you should also give an example of a time you really helped someone at school, in your family or in your neighborhood. Did you tutor a friend for a test? Listen when a friend went through a rough time? Volunteer to help an elderly neighbor? Save the day for someone? Basically, think what customer service skills are (listening, meeting a need, putting a smile on someone’s face, changing someone’s mood from angry or dissatisfied to happy or pleased) and give an example of how you did that.
Q. Why do you want to work here?
Because I have always liked this store, I would love the opportunity to work here to learn more about how a retail store works from the inside
A. Good answer. If you’re a customer there, make sure to mention that. They may ask why you want to learn how a retail store works, so you’d better have a reason or your answer will seem rehearsed and phony.
Q. Why do you think you would be suited?
Q.Why should we employ you?
A. These are pretty much the same thing. Just tell them your strengths and skills seem to be a good match for their needs. For example, you have good communication skills, so you’ll be able to help customers find what they need and solve problems they have.
Q. How would you go about reaching targets(Amount of money earned on phone sales)?
A. Huh? Tell them you’d need to be trained on the strategies for that. Tell them you expect you would just listen, keep the phone conversation focused on the sale, maybe ask if there’s anything else they’d like.
Q. What would your person space be like at work?
A. Person space? Maybe personal space, like a desk or cubicle? Tell them you like to keep things neat and organized.
Q. Time management skills?
A. You know from dealing with your classes how to make sure you get all your homework and studying done. You think about what needs to be done, maybe you write a list, and then you prioritize it. You do the most important stuff first, or maybe the stuff that’s due soonest, or maybe all the little tasks just to get them out of the way. (Say however it is that you prioritize.)
Q. How do you work under pressure?
A. Basically, they want to know that you won’t freak out or break down. Some people thrive under pressure – most of us do not. You can say you find that remaining calm and being flexible (changing your prioritizing as needed) works best for you.
It’s okay to be nervous. Most people are – and many interviewers are nervous, too! But try to be calm. Some tips:
– Be neat and clean. Dress nicely, not in jeans.
– Be on time.
– Smile and make eye contact now and then. Don’t overdo this or it will look unnatural.
– Keep answers brief and to the point.
– At the end, thank the interviewer, let them know you’re interested in the job, and ask when they expect to reach a decision.
Good luck!

Ken asks…
I have a LG Neon and it keeps shutting off although the battery is full.?
I got this refurbished phone about 4 months ago and its been working fine until recently. Whenever I turn it on it just says low battery and turns off. The first thing I did was buy a new battery, although that didn’t fix it. If I leave it plugged in it doesn’t turn off though…The weird thing about this is that it says I have no service anywhere I go and the internet doesn’t work. My SIM card is where it should and I’m pretty sure its not broken. There’s no water damage to this phone and I haven’t dropped it. I’d kinda like to keep this phone so are there any tips to fix it at home? Or do I have to take it into the store. I tried the tape thing, but that didn’t work either D=
Ed answers:
Welcome to LG phones my dear. I had the same problem with a brand new LG rumour phone. It would turn off up to 30 times while trying to text one simple message. And then I dropped it in a puddle (by accident) and now it works great! I don’t necessarily suggest that extreme measure but the best thing I can advise is to bring it into the store. Just warning though, if they agree to “fix” it may not actually fix it. There is unfortunately a bad habit of this with some LG models.
